A CMA-licensed investment advisor in Kuwait.

OUR INVESTMENT PHILOSOPHY

We believe that preservation of capital, coupled with its consistent and steady compounding, is the key to long-term wealth generation — and every recommendation we make is built on that belief.

Our philosophy is Quality Investing. We advise clients on businesses with sustainable competitive advantages — economic moats — at prices below our estimate of their intrinsic value.

We look for companies earning high returns on invested capital, run by ethical, owner-oriented managers, and we insist on a margin of safety in every recommendation we make.

We counsel patience. Wealth is compounded over years, not traded over days — and we steer our clients away from speculation, leverage and short-term thinking.

WHAT WE DO

We are a CMA-licensed investment advisor. We do not manage money — we advise on it. Our clients remain the decision-makers; we provide the independent research and recommendations that help them become part-owners of outstanding businesses — those that possess three characteristics: Economic Moats, Reinvestment Runways and Superior Capital Allocation.

HOW WE RESEARCH, VALUE & RECOMMEND

1. Structural advantages — we seek businesses with durable competitive advantages earning high returns on invested capital.

2. Reinvestment runways — we favour companies able to reinvest profits at high incremental rates of return for many years.

3. Owner-oriented management — we recommend businesses run by ethical managers who allocate capital as owners would.

We maintain a focused watchlist of quality businesses, studied in depth. We value businesses conservatively and recommend action only at prices offering a margin of safety.

We advise patience — and we advise stepping back only when the investment thesis breaks or the price exceeds our appraisal of value.

WHAT WE DO NOT DO

1. We advise — we do not manage portfolios on a discretionary basis, and we do not take custody of client funds or securities.

2. We recommend investing — we do not recommend speculating.

3. We look at the business — not the price.

4. We do not advise on debt-laden companies.

5. We do not advise shorting.

6. We do not advise on tobacco, alcohol or gambling businesses — nor on futures and derivatives.

WHO WE ARE

Husain Kothari

Husain Kothari

Founder, CEO

Husain is the founder and CEO of KCIA. He believes wealth can be compounded through long-term ownership of quality businesses.

Husain believes that markets are largely efficient, with pockets of inefficiency that let patient investors capture mispriced assets.

Using a quality-first approach, Husain maintains a watchlist of under 300 firms in his investable universe, studied in depth so that our advice rests on conviction, not consensus.

At KCIA, Husain fosters two edges: behavioral and analytical. A behavioral edge relates to the temperament of the team (resolute about the philosophy yet adaptable, downside-risk averse, highly disciplined), an organizational culture that nurtures patience, and client relationships built for long-term economic growth rather than short-term volatility. An analytical edge rests on process over outcome, depth into best ideas only, economic profits over accounting profits, and high-quality, repeatable decision-making.

Husain has a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas, Austin. He is fluent in several languages including Arabic and Urdu.
